To beat your enemy, you must become him - thus the Ferrari 488 GTB influence in this Ford GT lookalike.
I did some grinding and sold off a few cars, including my Progen T20, to buy the Vapid FMJ that debuted early last week in the “Further Adventures in Finance and Felony” update for GTA Online - more pics after the jump. I’m also the unhappy CEO and sole proprietor of a wholesaling outfit.
Since the stock FMJ lacks any turbo spooling, BOV noises or anything of that sort that you’d get from the Ford GT (and the Ferrari 488 GTB, for that matter), I added some of those noises in with the Turbo Tuning. I added the Race Brakes as well. The FMJ is prone to spinning out, and it lights up the rear tires from a stop; on top of that, it doesn’t have quite as much mid-range punch in stock form as some of the other Supercars do. All of that said, I love the way that the FMJ drives overall.
The front of the FMJ is derived from the Aston Martin Vulcan, while the rear is derived from the Ferrari 488 GTB. There are some other differences between the Vapid FMJ and Ford GT aside from how other cars were blended into the FMJ - the rear spoiler is fixed rather than being active aero (which is a letdown IMO), and the FMJ’s doors are regular ones rather than mimicking the GT’s butterfly doors. I love the way that the FMJ looks overall, especially the flying buttresses and the giant gaps underneath them. The unique interior is cool, too.
Here are some more pics that I took of the FMJ. I apologize for how absurdly dark they are - I use different monitor settings when I’m gaming, so the pictures that I take look brighter to me than they actually are when I retrieve them from the Rockstar Social Club. Painting the FMJ white or silver or something probably would have gone better with the “evening photo shoot” motif that I was aiming for, but I wanted the FMJ to be blue even if it isn’t particularly close to Liquid Blue. Switching my monitor to its sRGB mode or something would also help, LOL.
SNAP-CRACKLE-POP.
I do wish that the 488 GTB taillights were the brake lights, rather than the FMJ’s actual brake lights between the 488 lights and the exhaust tips.
My personal favorite of the crummy shots that I took.
Dat lens flare tho.
The Vulcan influence is in the front.
I didn’t like the Vulcan front end at first, but it didn’t take long for it to grow on me. The wheels are nice, too.
Regarding the CEO bit - I bought the Maze Bank space and a warehouse and did a few CEO missions, and I’m not entirely sure it was worth over $1.3M in GTA$. I’m not keen on the PvP griefing and such that goes on in Public sessions to start with, so dealing with the business has been annoying. One player laid down proximity/sticky bombs near my warehouse as I was bringing back a Gruppe van with a couple of crates in it - the van held up fine, and I shot the guy dead when he tried shooting at me. There was also the time I lost an entire shipment of three crates because a couple of players in another organization were hassling me with their Titan planes. They were buzzing me as I traveled back in a slower van loaded with the crates, and I lost control of the van at one point; after that, one of them was able to crash their plane near me and cause the van to blow up.
I do like some of the perks. It’s nice to be able to retrieve any of my personal vehicles from any of my garages without having to wait, like I have to for the mechanic. I also like being able to basically rent certain vehicles, like the Turreted Limo, from the Quick Interaction Menu without having to buy said vehicles first. The VIP work is somewhat interesting, but it seems like there’s still a cooldown period for CEOs in Invite-Only sessions. Additionally, it’s still PvP stuff - only one VIP mission can be going on in a session at a time.
I guess that it’s better to have the business and not need it than it would be to need it and not have it, but eh. I’d rather stick to my usual PvE grinding.

I hate this update. I had 3 full garages worth of glorious motors from across the globe but to afford the office and warehouse I had to sell almost of it and now this is all that is left.

Damn, that sucks. I was able to grind and sell a few cars to get to $1.3M, then figured that I’d sell the T20 (which I didn’t care that much for) to get about $1.4M more. I bought the FMJ, modded it, did some more grinding to get the warehouse and have about $130K in the bank right now.
I’m pretty burnt out on GTA Online at the moment, LOL. Hopefully the CEO stuff gets better with time - it seems to be meant as a way to get long-term gains, but I’d prefer that there was more PvE stuff.

Sounds pretty realistic...small business success is a “millionaire next door” grind, with no sudden jackpot like sports stars and entertainers get.
Now imagine if it took twice as long because you had to fork over half of everything you made. And then got told it wasn’t enough...

I may finally have a chance to you with this next week. Currently I only have about $560k in GTA money. I'm afraid at what I'll have to do.

We could grind the Fleeca Job and regular missions. There’s also one VIP job that pays a decent amount for not much work. I also farm modded Sandking XLs - I made a post detailing how I do it, and I can help you if you need me to.
Lemme know when you want to do it - I’m SonorousSpeedJoe on the RSC. You’re on PC, right?

Sadly I am not, I am PS4. Give it a few months and I plan on going over to PC. How much does it cost to get into this stuff?

It depends on how much you want to spend for the level of performance that you want (i.e. the resolution, frames per second, graphical features, loading speed, etc.). There’s a bajillion different PC parts out there, but figuring out which parts are compatible isn’t too bad - there are sites like PC Part Picker that’ll help you figure out compatibility, price, energy consumption and so on. The good news is that prices for some of the more expensive parts are falling; storage (whether you use an HDD or an SSD) has gotten cheaper. GPUs just made a ridiculously huge leap in price vs. performance with AMD’s RX 480 and Nvidia’s GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, though current GPUs like Nvidia’s 970 and 980 will do the job as well. GTA V is one of the more graphics-intensive games out there, and the PC version is also over 60 GB in size.
Basically, the hard part of a PC build is determining what you want and the parts that you need to get there. Actually assembling matching parts is easy. I’d recommend making a post on Oppo and googling for more info.
Too bad we’re on different platforms at the moment, LOL.

Last year I went onto r/buildapc, found a recommended parts list someone made that fit my budget, and just built that. I had zero experience with computers before I built it and aside from the hard drive dying a few weeks ago (replaced easily with a new one), have had zero problems with it.

I remember not too long ago I saw a 4K mod for GTAV. I can only imagine the consumption for something like that. As for the price thing, meant for the stuff on GTAV. I haven't logged on since the new dlc came out and was wondering how much it would cost to get into the new stuff.

Yeah, I don’t think the business was worth the money I spent. Luckily I’ve been okay griefing wise but this whole not being able to keep a warehouse full on the off chance it gets raided is bullshit. There is way too many opportunities for griefing in the new expansion. I did have some fuck in a buzzard try shoot me down when I was delivering crates to make a measly $112k, I can make more faster just grinding single player missions.

4K textures, right? The game can already run at 4K on PC.
The new GPUs that I mentioned have better energy consumption for the performance that they put out, as well.
As far as the new stuff in the latest update, it’ll cost you about $1.25M at a minimum for the cheapest office and the cheapest small warehouse. You can buy up to 5 warehouses - the medium and large ones are much more expensive, like $880k-$3.5M . You can add living quarters to the office (so that you can set your spawn point there) for about $768k, add a gun safe (to store weapons that you don’t use, which is a godsend to us PC players who don’t have the ability to drop weapons for some reason) for $520k, and change the interior decor of the office for varying six-figure sums. Basically, it costs a lot LOL.
There’s also the ability to basically rent certain vehicles, like I mentioned in my post - as a CEO, you can spawn the BeeJay XL and Washington for free, and certain other vehicles (like the Turreted Limo, armored Schafter LWB and Buzzard) for sums ranging from $5k to $25k.

Yeah, I’d prefer it if I could just do all of this stuff exclusively in PvE situations. If I build up a stockpile of stuff and then suddenly have to drop everything that I’m doing to defend the office from the Vagos or Merryweather, I can deal with that. Dealing with players, not so much.
I do like the idea of a bunch of players competing with each other to grow their Organizations and make money from that, but I can’t organize a group from Oppo and don’t want to deal with randos.

And all this is with an extra $1 million in your pocket to qualify to be a CEO right? The shark card gimmick is amazing and I salute Rockstar for it. On the upside they are adding to a game that has normally been let set for a few years before a new one comes out so that is good.
Also, yes I do believe it was a texture pack mod.

You have to manually activate the CEO stuff whenever you enter GTA Online , but there’s no cost barrier (I assume that you’re referring to the VIP stuff, which I’ve heard that there’s a cost barrier for). Once you’ve got the office you’re good - you can do all of the VIP stuff in addition to the CEO stuff.
I’m amazed at how far Rockstar has pushed the Shark Cards - they’ll be pushing them to new heights once the X80 Prototipo comes out for $2.7M. The constant updates are great, I agree.

I won’t lie, I’ve bought shark cards before. They also make awesome content free for the rat of us on a game that is almost three years old. I forgot that one was VIP(the one with the value barrier) and the other is CEO.

Yeah, CEO status has all of the VIP benefits rolled in.
I should’ve taken the free Shark Card deal that was running last year for the PC version. I’d rather not pay $100 for a Megalodon, though I am tiring of the grind LOL.

After I start my new job I may end up buying one. I've come to realize that it takes me less time to earn money in the real world than it does in the game. That will be especially true with my new and with that it also gives me less time to grind.

The T20 is still waaaaaaayyy faster than the FMJ though. If I were you I would have saved up for the three unreleased cars that are coming soon.

It’s true that it’s faster, but I love the Ford GT. Additionally, while I do like driving the T20, I didn’t really bother to drive or mod it.
The X80 Prototipo is too rich for my blood, I think. I’m definitely interested in the Seven70 and 811.

Ah, well I’d spring for the 811 as the Seven-70 is lacking in customization. However, the X80 Proto has some cool color and customiztion options as well.

True. I do wish that the FMJ had the Le Mans rear diffuser and better rear wings.

I want to see one with every secondary color thing fitted and then painted Diamond or Mariner Blue with Orange secondary. Maybe they’ll do a racecar variant like the Jester and Massacro. Definitely don’t get the Seven-70 though. It’s nowhere close to as fast as the Massacro.

What gets me about the available rear wings is that they leave the ends of the 488 spoiler (the parts that sit on top of the taillights) behind. It may looks weird IMO.
I’m surprised to hear that the Seven70 is slower, given what cars it's derived from. Does it at least have godly handling specs that best the Massacro Racecar or something?

I don’t know. The video I watched only drag raced them. The X80 beats the T20, as does (surprisingly) the 811.
